Dear Mr. Clark:- I presume you will remember meeting me at Knutsford Hotel in company with Mr. Frank Knox of this City.I have been informed that your company will lay out a town at the Vegas Ranch, and I would very much like to take charge of that matter for you. I would suggest that it would be a good business proposition to have the town site and the lots ready for sale when the railroad reaches that point, then we could run the excursion from this City and the sale of lots would surprise you.I had a long talk with Hon. R. C. Kerens when he was in the city last week; he is a personal friend of mine and is ready and willingto help me in this or in any other matter, so he told me, as is alsoSenator Kearns. I followed the business for opening new towns for severalyears in Kansas and a company I was interested with laid out all thetowns on the Misouri Pacific in Kansas and Colorado, and I think Iunderstand the business pretty thoroughly.I will be glad to hear from you on this mnatter.
