Townsite at Las Vegas.Los , Angeles, Cal., Jan. 27, 1905.Messrs. Hood, Bancroft and Clark,Members of Construction Committee. Gentlemen:Under separate cover, I am sending you a blue print on a scale of 400 feet to the inch showing the proposed townsite at Las Vegas.The blocks, with the exception of those nearest the depot, are 300 feet by 400 feet in size with a 20 foot alley running through them, and are subdivided into lots 25 feet by 140 feet; the blocks nearest the depot are 300 feet by 120 feet with 25 foot lots. All streets are 80 feet in width. In order to save time, the lots have been shown in one block only, the remainder to be filled in later after the plan has been passed upon.I have shown the townsite as covering all of the Company's property southerly from the station reservation and extending eastward to near Las Vegas Creek with an 80 foot street abutting on the southerly, line of the reservation and following its angles. This has been done for the purpose of showing approximately the possible number of blocks and lots, though I understand that it is not theintentionto subdivide the entire area at present. As we have nodefinite connection to the southerly corner of the Company's property,the fractional blocks bordering on the westerly line will have to be changed somewhat after a survey is made.Yours truly, E.G.
