May 24, 1918. Mr. Dumont Scott, Darwin, Calif. Dear Mr. Scott: Acknowledging your letter of the 20th inst., I regret very much to say that there is no no suitable opening here, which I can offer you, nor do I know happen to know of any elsewhere just at the moment. I will be very glad, of course, to keep you in mind, in the event of any openings occurring in the near future. I will shortly be leaving here, to take the position of superintendent of the Virginia-Louise M. Co., a very promising property, which is being opened up, at Pioche, Nevada, and it may be that I can later offer you a position there, but it will probably be some months before a suitable position would be created. Wishing you success, I remain, very truly yours,
