The Northern Paiute people are indigenous to the Great Basin, and specifically eastern California, western Nevada, and southeast Oregon. Transcribed from the picture, "Northern Paiute - 6. Tuba (Pinenuts) was an important food to the Northern Paiute people. In early spring, before the pine trees began to bud, the Paiute prayed for a successful pinenut crop.
