Barney Rawlings, Asslt, Mgr., Convention Bureau SUBJECT: AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR QUALITY CONTROL, WESTERN REGION CONVENTION Las Vegas has been selected as the site for the Western Region convention of the American Society for Quality Control for February 18-19 or February 21-22, 1963. Mr. Robert G. Derwent, Administrative Assistant of the Quality Engineering Department, Aerojet General Corporation, Azusa, California, will be the Convention Chairman. Mr. Derwent visited Las Vegas last June and looked over some of the local hotel faciIities by himself, so we do not know precisely which hotels he visited. Our contact with him was to show him through the Convention Center, but he didn't seem to know at that time whether or not he would use the Convention Center or a headquarters hotel for his meet i ngs.
