CANNON, City Attorney s/ William Peccole A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held this 11th day of March, 1952 was called to order at the hour of 4:15 P.M. by His Honor Mayor C. D. Baker with the following members present: Mayor C. D. Baker Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Rex A. Jarrett Commissioner William Peccole Commissioner Reed Whipple City Manager C. W. Shelley City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Clerk Shirley Ballinger ASSESSMENT DISTRICT Commissioner Jarrett moved the recommendation of the City Manager to contract for the ENGINEERING services of the Engineering Service Corporation for the engineering work on Assessment Districts Nos. 100-16 and 100-17 be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. LIQUOR APPLICATION Commissioner Whipple moved the application of Harry V. T. Gilbert, Gilbert Bros., 400 West Bonanza for a Retail Beverage license for the first quarter of 1952 be approved subject to investigation by the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. TAXICAB RATE INCREASE This being the time heretofore set for the public hearing on the raise of taxicab rates, Mr. J. C. Brewer, spoke on behalf of the Taxicab Owners. Commissioner Bunker moved the Taxicab Operators submit a financial statement to the Com­mission, and that a decision on this request be rendered March 19, 1952. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. There being no further business to come before this special meeting, the meeting adjourned.
