Pely. ..S3,-; 1905 60-A Mr. H. I. Bettis, Auditor. Bear Sir: Replying to your favor of Feb. 20th, file A-908, in the natter of forged check of Arthur McGuire for -68.35. I have had no corres­pondence whatever with‘hr, Bracken relative tp this check. However, on ray recent trip through Las Vegas hr. Bracken spoke to me about the check and explained how the natter had been.handled, and I advised not to appeal to the District Court as the expense incident thereto would nearly if not quite eat up the value of the check.
