Los Angeles, Cal,, July 10, 1909, Mr,J,Ross Clark,' Member Special Committee,11 Building, Dear Sir: I have your favor of July ninth, file 1199, making in­quiry as to lots in blocks 25 and 26, Las Vegas townsite, and have to advise that your understanding is correct that none of the lots in either of these two blocks have been sold. In this connection I will state, that when at Las Vegas last Tuesday I talked with Mr.Bracken and suggested that he write me concerning the location of the company houses,' and enclose here­with, for your information, copy of his letter dated July eighth and map showing the location of houses as proposed by him. In my opinion it would be a good idea to build houses in several blocks, for the reason that the houses which you are con­templating are to be of an attractive design and very well built, being, as I understand it, of cement blocks, and it would seem to me that many of the employes would prefer renting them if a little scattered rather than if they were all built in two blocks.
