(Ras) Tar.teri 67, veteran Union Pacific engineer and a res-; ident of Las Vega's for more than 25 years, died at a local hospital , last night following an extended 'illness. Tarter, who joined the Union Pacific as a fireman in 1907, held I and was prominent, in railroad brotherhood activities. , Survivors include a son, Lester Tarter, of Boulder City, and a brother, J. V Tarter, of El Monte, California. Funeral arrangements are pending but will be announc- I ed by the Palm Funeral Home.
