tcs Angeles, March 8, 1980 20-334-1 Mr. 1U 0. ferkinc! oeJ Mr. Wm. Reinhardt - to* Angelo* Ur. F. 8. Paulsen - Salt take Mr. E. 8. Miller - Omaha Mr. A. M. Folger - Las Vega* Referring to your on line letter of February 18, Hit LA-20-8 in regard to production and consumption of water at Las Vegas during the year 1949. At stated In your letter there It a discrepancy between anount of water produced as determined by weir measurements and ml# consumed as determined by meter measurements of approximately f>%. An accurate measurement of water produced Is essential In balancing production against consumption to determine any undue losses due to errors in meter reading, leaking lines and salres, by-paseed meters, tapped lines, faulty meters etc. and to keep check on well performance, it ie not poeslble to obtain accuracy required by weir measurements and in addition this method is expensive due to amount of water wasted in taking eueh measurements. As indicated In your letter the saving on water wasted would alone justify the expense of installing meters at the wells* Further, the metering of theee wells has been requested by the State Engineer. As requested attached herewith Is print showing in yellow proposed meters at the wells indicating in the legend their else and capacity, also showing In red the location, site and capacity of existing meters measuring consumption.
