Blft Thursday, September 3,1931 1 Public Service Commission Splits Difference In Bulk of Water Rates Las Yegas Review 9-3-21 A boost in residential water rates;, of 50 cents per month instead ot a dollar as originally proposed, has j been granted by the public service commission, it was revealed, here yesterday with a receipt ot tne new schedule of rates authorized as of-September first.' The Las Vegas Land and Water company requested a boost _from $1.00 to $2.00 for each residence, the commission setting the proper figure at $1.50 which' with a charge of 25c each for bath and toilet brings the total amount fot houseowners UP to $2.00 monthly, instead of $1.50. . ' In most instances where an increase of $1.00 per month was requested, the commission cut this figure in half. In the case ot bungalow courts, the rate requested was $2.00 per month for each single house without bath- or toilet _the commission set the amount at $1, with the majority of other types of service in proportion. The new; fate . for apartment houses Without bath ; and toilet is $1.50, with those facilities $2.00 per month.
