The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce reports that several large land tracts in Clark County have been acquired by nationally known industrial firms, including the purchase of several thousand acres by the Hughes Foundation. In Las Vegas itself the Union Pacific Railroad is the largest employer, with about 700 persons employed in its division headquarters, shops and classification yards.
