Las Vegas - November 12, 1941 W 18-4-9 Mr. H. H. Larson, Superintendent, Los Angeles, California. Dear Sirs Tour letter November 9th, with regard to providing additional sleeping space for Union Pacific employees. X note, in looking over my files, that our last A.f .e . request for an addition to the Booming House in 1924, was for #42,000. f do not believe we could Justify any such an additional expenditure for another addition at this time. In the past ten years our Rooming House has been from 50 - 70 % filled, until the last six months* As stated in your letter there are other aooomodations available in Las Vegas for employees, and X do not feel that we should consider an addition at this time. The McNeil Construction Company are building 125 houses south of Charleston Boulevard, and quite a number of additional homes are expected to be built at Fremont and 15th Streets, which should somewhat relieve the housing situation in Las Vegas. Tours very truly. m r a * . m Vice President
