% Omaha - June 2, 1940 FS - Los Angs You are familiar with what WRB needs in way of office furniture. He tells me he needs 2 desks of approximately 34 by 60 inches top site, one with side lift typewriter attachment on one side, drawers on other side, the other desk with drawers on both sides} with swivel chair for each desk* He also needs 5 or 6 reasonably comfortable chairs for the lobby of the rooming house and for visitors* He is rather Insistent on having secondhand furniture so I thought it might be well for us to furnish from some of our offloe furniture and replace with new. As for the comfortable chairs, I think they could be picked up around some of our ticket offices where the chairs are beginning to show age and need replacement* I would like to work to a better class of furniture for WHB’s office and gradually bring it up to a higher standard. In fact, I want all of our officers to be eventually equipped with respectable and fairly modern equipment. My observation of his quarters at Las Vegas was that while he is getting along that is about all* Will you see what you can work out and let me know what the replacement costs will be for such furniture as you think can be sent to him. While I hope the furniture you can find will do I hope it is other than oak finish; oak that has been stained would do. GFA T GFA
