Method 1 has a somewhat shorter length of adequacy (because of lesser total capacity to the urban area) and will not so quickly alleviate the existing seasonal water shortage in the urban area. The relative construction costs of the projects are important. Since all three methods will have an estimated adequacy of at least 30 years, the thirty year costs are compared. (b) The estimated duration of adequacy is somewhat less for this method since no assistance can be derived from the BMI system.
