Everett for water service to Lot 25, Block 7, Tract 186?, at Yermo: We have checked over the estimate based on ground price of #1,15 per foot for 4-inoh oast iron and adding the percentages provided in agreement 8767 Audit Ho. between LAieSLRR and LVL&W Go. and it appears that the 355 ft. extension to serve this one lot*would in­volve an investment of about $10QQf00. I could not justify an investment of that kind to serve a lot which sells for #150,00. In similar situations in Las Vegas when re­quest for ?off-line* service is received, it is our practice to make a connection at the nearest main from which point the consumer lays his own service line to his property. It appears to me that this is the prac­tical thing to do in this case, Miss Everett to arrange for easement over Lot 1 or 2 and for service pipe in­stalled fro© Main to her lot, a distance of about 120 feet. We have already suggested that solution to Miss Everett. In the event she is unable to secure such easement, arrangements could probably be made to secure a supply of water fro© the existing service line which supplies the house owned by Mark Dodson on the adjoining Lot 26| the meter bill could be split or an additional meter Installed at the west line of Lot 25 to measure service to Miss Everett. Regarding the 4th paragraph of your letter as to whether the Railroad Company would be required to extend this service at its cost, I am asking Mr, Bennett to advise you direct, with copy to me. A.
