Las Vegas - October 29, 1951 Mr. William Reinhardt - Los Angeles Attached are newspaper clippings reporting results of October 27th meeting of the Colorado River Commission con­cerning the O'Neil concept for diversion of water from the BMl pipeline to Las Vegas Valley. While the attached articles refer to Increasing capa­city of pipeline from 30 to 50 million gallons per day with 30,000,000 gallons per day pumping facilities at Manganese Ore, CM Nell, who was in the office Friday, stated that a 30 or more million gallon storage resevolr was contemplated at Manganese Ore with outlets established at such elevation as necessary to maintain 20 to 30 million gallon emergency reserve at all times for BMl lessees. It is reported Mueller appeared impressed with the possibilities of the project and O'Neil has been employed by the CRC to make an engineering study and cost estimate. It is further reported that the Lessees are agreeable if engineering report shows the increased capacity is feasible. W.H.Johnson V
