Mr. Wm. Reinhardt - Los Angeles For the past several years, It has been our prac­tice to arrange with City Authorities to assign, at Water Company expense, two police officers to enforce city ordin­ance prohibiting water wastage during the summer months. During the past three weeks, we have had consider­able warm weather, the temperature going as high as 98° and as a result, our water consumption has steadily increased. Several hundred new homes have been completed and occupied since last summer, and it appears reasonable to anticipate that our consumption this year will substantially exceed our peak period of last year. I recommend authority to arrange with Gity Manager to again furnish two officers, for the period June 15 to September 15, at a cost of j|550 per month or a total cost of |1 650, Las Vegas - May 22, 1952 ¥ 23-1 B W.
