tot FILE R2-129 Las Vegas - April 21# 1953 cos Mr* w. H. Johnson - Los Angeles Mr. F. J. Purdy, who conducts a Junk business--second-hand automobiles etc.— called this morning requesting advice as to whether the Railroad Company was going to grant lease on area indicated as area "B** on sketch attached to my letter to Mr. Johnson dated February 25, 1953~~which area lies easterly of his present lease and is bounded by Las Vegas Creek on the south. Railroad Company right of way on the east and private street owned by the Railroad Company on the north. He also requested advice as to whether the Railroad Company had any objection to his Installing & building on this parcel of land if lease is granted. Mr. Purdy advised that he had purchased the Mobile Oil Service Station building now situated at the corner of Stewart and Main Streets, which is an all metal building and which he is proposing to move to parcel mentioned above if the Railroad Company has no objection to such a building on this property. In connection with this matter, I called Mr. L. 0. Conners who in turn discussed the matter with Mr* Johnson and advised me that Mr, Johnson had no objection to Mr. Purdy's proposal providing he secured a permit from the City to move the building and did not conduct a retail gasoline or oil business on the premises after building had been moved to area *B® as described above. * m e m o r a n d u m
