LosAngeles, February 13, 1942 Mr. Guild; Mr. Titus called on phone today and said they have 26 tank cars in service hauling 20 to 25 cars of water per day from Las Vegas to Royson for use of McNeil, as well as contractor building the reservoir. Says this domestic water is being used by McNeil to sprinkle down streets and by contractor to "puddle" down reservoir to eliminate dust. Mr. Titus thought this w q s an unnecessary waste of domestic water from Las Vegas and also resulted in railroad having to haul a lot of water for other than domestic purposes, tying up tank cars badly needed elsewhere. Was wondering why McNeil and other contractors could not run their tank trucks to Mead Lake and obtain water there for use in sprinkling streets, etc., using the water hauled from Las Vegas for domestic purposes only.
