Titus: As you probably know, w© haw© started an educational campaign through the City Commissioners at Las Vegas with respect to the conservation of water at that point. These articles will appear In the two newspapers in Las Vegas, as well as broadcast by radio, and the first release will appear in the newspapers on Saturday, the 14th. It la of the utmost’ Importance that there be absolutely no waste of water at any of our railroad facilities, Including the stock yards, as you can readily appreciate the kick-back we will get from the residents of the city should such a condition be found to exist. My attention was called while in Las Vegas yesterday to the fact the depot lawn was being flooded with water during the night and I noticed yesterday a number of the hydrants were leaking and had the appearance of having been in that condition for seme time* It is also Important that all of our employes occupying residences in Las Vegas cooperate 100 per cent in this campaign and set example for others to follow. If any of. our employes are using so-called desert coolers in their homes, It Is Important that they be equipped with recapture pumps in order to avoid the waste of water as this is something that will be emphasised during this campaign.
