Also please find original and three oopies of Fora 2120 #1? dated December 15* 1953* recommending authority for new position of general clerk at a rate of $1.90 per hour. The recommendation for extension of authority for the position of Inspector is requested in order to extend the service of our present inspector. The recommendation for a new position of general clerk is made after a careful survey of our office requirements wherein it was found that our inspector was unable to keep up with the field work required of his position due to the necessity of spending too much time in the office analysing and setting-i^p In the records the data secured from his field inspections. As a result of this we have developed a considerable backlog of work in the maintainenee of our record of accounts with respect to base rate changes, changes in ownership and new construct!cm. After a careful study of this situation, X an eonvienoed that an addition of one general clerk to our office staff will permit me to reorganise our office force and relieve the inspector of office work required in connection with his position and will also give me needed assistance in the general office in matters relating to collection of water bills, tracers on delinquent accounts and the performance of other miscellaneous clerical duties which have Mr. Mm.
