# Hope for Accord in jfctar. Co. Purchase . ? within Thirty Days A tentative agreement can be expected within 30 days for the purchase of the water utility here, it was indicated yesterday as conferences were begun between engineers of the las Vegas Talley Water district and the las Vegas 6 land and Water o* A survey is underway looking toward arriving at an equitable price of the utility and its facilities, However, district officials, cautioned that despite every effort being exerted to speed up negotiations, there is no likelihood that an agreement can be negotiated in time to provide relief this year in the event summertime low water pres** sure occurs. District president Thomas A. Campbell stressed that the district will be unable to do anything to alleviate the situation until after a bond issue is passed and a line laid to I&s Tegas from the Header son-lake Mead pipeline. The Union Pacific railroad, owner of the water utility, however, is expected to bend every effort to rush negotiations in order to be relieved of some of the unpleasantness certain to develop this summer over low pressure during the hot months. This summer is expected to be the worst ever experienced in las Tegas on the issue of low pressure, since the 1p0oor winter of 1950-1951 when the mountain snowpack was only percent of normal, will be reflected in the diminishing water table, engineers have predicted.
