Los Angeles - June &, 1950* Mr. A. M. Folger - Lae Vegas: Referring to your letter of May 19. 195°» W-21-3-2, submitting copy of letter from Nevada State Board of Health to Mr. V. A. Totman of Sierra Pacific Power Co., dated May 10, 1950, relative to possibility of the State Health Department adopting regulations for the State of Hevada governing conditions from a sanitation standpoint under whleh water lines and sanitary sewer lines may be constructed in dose proximity of each other: It is my opinion the Health Department should issue regulations covering Its requirements in a general way. I do not believe Instructions should attempt to cover everything in detail. X would suggest that Mr. White prepare rules and regulations along the lines of those already Issued by the State of Minnesota and the State of California, incorporating in the one set of reg­ulations all data in the two sets, and submit it to several of the larger water companies in the State of Nevada for their review and comments before preparing final rules and regulations.
