Similar conditions obtained on July 23# until th® pumps out off at 8?20 p*is* During ©ost of th© day, w® had 26 pounds pressure in th© downtown area and when It appeared that withdrawal fro® the Clark Reservoir would again earns® th® pumps to out out before the day was over, I suggested th® pressure at Clark Reservoir b® decreased and as Charleston Reservoir was almost full, Well Re*®, or at least a portion of Its production, oould be diverted to th® Clark Reservoir* I was informed by the pumper on duty that with their experience in th© operation of the water production facilities it was unnecessary for me to make suggestions. From past experience theee pumpers should realise that with only about 26* of available water in the Clark Reserwtir at 1:30 p,m, and having lost considerably in excess of 6 inches per hour during the morning that the Reservoir pumps would cut out within three or four hours unless steps were taken to reduce pressure or supplement the supply# As a. result of the unsatisfactory operation during th® past three or four day® a considerable portion of the city was without water for sanitary or domestic purposes and pressure was insufficient to furnish water to coolers during several hours of each of the above days. The Gity Commissioners at its masting on July 2;, criticised th® Union Pacific for inadequate service and th© Oity Attorney was instructed to formerly request th® Public Service Commission of Nevada to require th© Union Pacific to immediately augment the supply of water in the Las Vegas area*
