“LAS VEGAS EEVIEW-JODBHAL", Sunday, March. 9. 1952 Final Agreement On Water Pact Expected Monday Final agreement on the long sought contract insuring an ample supply of water from Lake. Mead for Las Vegas valley, is expected: to he reached at a m e e t ing to he held Monday afternoon, it was learned this morning. The latest draft of the proposed contract between Basic Management Inc., and the Las Vegas Valley water district, has been gone over in detail by representatives of both groups and word was this morning that there remain but two points to be iron-, ed out, an amortization formula and the status of the water district’s contract if and when its projected pipe-line is built In from the lake. Thomas A. Campbell, president I of the water district board, said ' this morning he felt that “we are sufficiently c l o s e together that it’s almost a matter of finding the proper- w ords. in which to express our agreement.” . Clifford A. Jones, attorney for Basic management, expressed similar views and said he felt the entire matter could be resolved at the Monday session, so that a contract could be signed within a few days.. -It will provide, as previously recounted, for 5,000,000 gallons per day for the water district until such time as the district installs booster facilities to in- | (Continued on Page Two) Final Agreement (Continued P*rom Page 1) crease present pipe-line capacity! to 50,000,000 gallons daily, at 1 which time 13,750,000 gallons a day will be made available. With the water contract out of the way, representatives of the lessees and the Colorado river, 1 commission will proceed with th e1 : final draft of transfer of the resi-f !dual facilities at the plant to pasic Management. Present I plans call for completion by I March 15, but indications were [ today that it would be impossible to clear .the final draft before the regular meeting of the commission here March 28, 29.
