From the Nye County, Nevada Photograph Collection (PH-00221) -- Series VII. Other areas in Nye County -- Subseries VII.H. Reed Family (Kawich Mountains, Nevada). Goat and sheep skins were used for chaps because of their warmth. Some riders had bearskin chaps, of which they were very proud. Note the large size of Reed’s horse.
