Taken from her obituary on Las Vegas Review Journals' site: "NAOMI CHERRY Naomi Cherry, of Las Vegas, passed away Feb. 21, 2014, after a long and joyful life. She was 89 years of age and a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves behind a devoted family and wonderful friends gathered over a lifetime. Born Dec. 1, 1924, in St. Louis, to parents, Abe and Jenny (nee Pollock) Barg, she was the eldest of five siblings, loved to dance and graduated from Soldan High School.

Cohen, Bernard Louis, 1918-2002

Bio taken from Find-A-Grave: "Dr. Bernard Louis Cohen, 83, of Prospect Street, Malone, N.Y. and E. Harmon Avenue, Las Vegas, Nev., died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Nathan Adelson Hospice, Las Vegas, Nev.
He was born Oct. 31, 1918, in Gouverneur, N.Y., the son of Hyman and Mildred Edison Cohen. They predeceased him.
He married Dr. Shirlee Krakauer Nov. 10, 1946, at the Essex House in New York City. She survives.

Goodman, Oscar Baylin, 1939-

Oscar Goodman was born June 26, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He earned his undergraduate degree from Haverford College in 1961 and his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1964. That same year, he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and in 1965 he was admitted to the Nevada State Bar. He served as Clark County’s chief deputy public defender from 1966 to 1967.

Forsythe, Norman, 1927-2008

Norman Forsythe was born May 8, 1927 in St. Paris, Ohio. He became a part of the Clark County Fire Department in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1953 and helped put out the El Rancho Fire in 1960. He served as a battalion chief for 25 years. He passed away on March 7, 2008.

John Pinjuv was born 1923 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1941. Pinjuv served in the United States Army for 20 years until retiring. He owned Las Vegas Sheet Metal.

Thomas Kerestesi was born on July 16, 1950 in Redding, California to Joy and Frank Kerestesi. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1956. He went to West Charleston Elementary School, Hyde Park Junior High School, Bishop Gorman High School, and the University of Nevada, Reno. He worked at Cragin and Pike Insurance Agency for 38 years.

Janis Riceberg moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1974 while attending Long Beach State University. She worked as a special education teacher for the Clark County School District for twenty years and began teaching at the College of Southern Nevada in 2003.

Thelan, Ethelda

Ethelda Thelan was born November 10, 1919 and came to Nevada in June of 1951, after obtaining her nursing degree from the University of California San Francisco and working at the school of nursing in Charlottesville, Virginia. After two years at the Washoe Medical Center in northern Nevada, Thelan became a staff public health nurse at Washoe County Health Department and eventually joined the Nevada Nurses Association in 1955.

Jones, Essie Lee

Essie Lee Jones got married to Charles Jones in 1969 in Tallulah, Louisiana. Jones came to Las Vegas in 1969, and held positions at several hotels on the Strip. She went to the Culinary Union hall and procured a job as a maid at the Stardust during graveyard shift, and eventually as a bus girl in the Palm Room. Jones then worked at the Frontier for fourteen years.
