Charles Deaner was born in 1922 near Erie, Pennsylvania. Deaner served in the Air Force and battled in the North African campaign of World War II. After the war, he attended college and received a law degree from Syracuse University. Because of a sister and brother-in-law who had settled in Las Vegas, Nevada, he ventured to join them in Las Vegas during the 1950s. Deaner became a leader in the law profession during the 1960s and the 1970s.

June F. Whitley was born in San Angelo, Texas and raised in Pittsburg, California. She met Lewis Whitley at the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg. They were married in 1955, and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1958. June found work as a maid for the Sahara Hotel before being hired at the Centel Telephone Company as an operator. In 1978, June became involved in local politics sought a seat on the Board of Regents for Clark County Community College, and eventually became the first woman Chairperson of the board.

Kevin T. Orrock is president of Summerlin and vice president of Master Planned Communities for The Howard Hughes Corporation. He was born in Pioche, Nevada, and spent his early years in the San Francisco Bay area and in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Kevin graduated from a small liberal arts college with a degree in accounting, came to Las Vegas in 1974, and started working in the accounting department at the Desert Inn Hotel and Casino. He later earned his M.B.A. from University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Robert W. Taft was born on November 1, 1925, in Sioux City, Iowa. Robert married Jean on January 22, 1957, and they had three children: Michael W. Taft, Rebecca T. Ashley, and Mary T. Clark.
Taft attended College Notre Dame. Taft also served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Taft was the assistant manager for plans, engineering, and budget for the Nevada Test Site.
