Aria Hotel and Casino is one of the properties in CityCenter, next to the Vdara and the Mandarin Oriental. It is a 4,004 room property, owned by MGM Resorts and built in 2009, is actually two interlocking buildings, semi-circular in shape. Jane Ann Morrison transferred to Las Vegas from Fort Smith, Arkansas, where she had worked as a newspaper reporter. The Donrey Media Group owned the Southwest Times Record newspaper in Fort Smith along with the Las Vegas Review Journal. In 1976, she became a night cop chasing stories that required a police response. Three years later, Jane Ann went over to the Nevadan, a portion of the paper that allowed a more in depth reporting style.
