He was born December 18, 1951 in California and moved to central Nevada in 1957 to farm with his parents. Gunderson attended the University of Arizona in Tuscon, Arizona, and later worked in various schools in the Clark County School District as a teacher, administrative assistant, dean, and assistant principal

Thiriot, Joseph, 1906-2009
Joseph Thiriot was born August 20, 1906 in Provo, Utah to George W. and Elvira Thiriot and was raised with four brothers. His father sold a “typing machine,” a forerunner to the typewriter. Eventually the family moved from Boise, Idaho to a ranch in Pahranagat Valley, Nevada, where the limits of educational opportunities compelled his parents to send him back to Provo to finish his education while living with family there. Gaining a teaching certificate enabled Thiriot to teach in rural Nevada.

Kurlinski, Claire, 1949-
Claire Kurlinski was born March 11, 1949. She is the daughter of Phyllis Walter Sawyer, who served in the United States Navy during World War II and worked as a teacher in Kingsville, Maryland, and Edward R. Sawyer. Clair Kurlinski married John Kurlinski.
