From the Nye County, Nevada Photograph Collection (PH-00221) -- Series V. Smoky Valley, Nevada and Round Mountain, Nevada -- Subseries V.A. Carver, Carver-Duhme, and Carver-Book Families (Smoky Valley). The reservoir was fed by an artesian well located to the left of the photograph. The well was 500 feet deep, and flows 90 gallons a minute without pumping.

Manor, Sam Houston

He once lived in Millers, Nevada during the early 1900's and worked for the Tonopah & Goldfield Rail Road.  His nickname of Barney Oldfield was given to him because he had a heavy foot while driving.  As of February 1980, Manor was living at Hawthron and Round Mountain at 90 years old.
