At the core of CityCenter is a transportation hub with pedestrians, autos, and tram traffic converging at one point as seen from the 32nd floor of the Monte Carlo hotel and casino. Original townsite homes and apartments sit along West Basic Road in downtown Henderson across from the government complex. Built in 1942, the homes were designed as temporary housing for workers employed at the Basic Magnesium Inc. manufacturing facility constructed during World War II.
