Abstract

Roundtable interview with members of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Nevada conducted by Claytee D. White on May 10 and 30, 22025 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: An Oral History Project. In this interview, the men discuss being members of the oldest and largest African American fraternal organization in the United States. The mission of Prince Hall Masonry is to teach a way of life that promotes brotherhood and self-improvement through education, moral standards, charity, and community involvement. These two sessions cover the activities of members, including working with the unhoused population, churches, creating scholarships, and assisting the less fortunate. Each person shares how and why he chose to become a mason.
