Tonopah's Championship Basketball Team: photographic print

Sitting in front, Chester Geyer and George Brown. While playing its Last game in Ely that season the team received a telegram from home staying, "Beat Ely and Chicago next." About $2,500 was raised in a few hours in Tonopah to send the team to participate in a tournament in Chicago. The Tonopah lads, however, did not fare well in Chicago against older and bigger competitions.

"Dad" Fairbanks and his wife, Celestia, at Shoshone, California, shortly after their founding of the community in 1910. The woman at left is Celestia Fairbanks; next to her is her husband, "Dad"; the man to the left of the dog is Shorty Harris; next to him is Herman Jones; the third man down from Herman is Charlie Brown, in white shirt and dark pants. Sitting on post at far right is man the world would later know as Sir Harry Oakes. Photo Taken about 1915. (More info behind photo).

The Clark County Attorney General Files on the Howard Hughes Estate (1976-1978) contain files of legal correspondence, newspaper clippings, and letters received from private individuals by the Attorney General's office regarding Howard Hughes' will after his passing in April 1976. The files were collected by Clark County District Attorney George E. Holt.

Desert Inn Country Club Newsletter Collection
The Desert Inn Country Club Newsletter Collection (approximately 1970-1979) contains official newsletters from the Desert Inn Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as photographs used to create the newsletters. The photographs depict members participating in events and tournaments, and the newsletters consist mostly of black-and-white photographs that highlight club parties and tournament champions.
