Oral history interview with Francisco Rufino-Parra conducted by Barbara Tabach on December 06, 2018 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Parra discusses his family background and immigrating to the United States from Mexico in 1989. He recalls moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1994 and describes his first impressions of the city. Parra then talks about his employment at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino as a dishwasher, being promoted, and becoming a member of Culinary Workers Union Local 226. He explains his role as shop steward for the Culinary Workers Union and describes the union strikes in 2018. Later, Parra discusses raising his three children in Las Vegas, living in a bilingual household, and how he has learned many languages from working in the hospitality industry. Lastly, Parra recalls visiting his birthplace and becoming a United States citizen.

Oral history interview with Edmundo “Eddie” Escobedo conducted by Maribel Estrada Calderón on February 25, 2019 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project. In this interview, Escobedo discusses his family background, growing up Latino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and his educational experiences. He recalls his father starting a promotional business where he would contract Mexican artists to perform, and describes his father’s involvement in politics. He talks about his family's newspaper business, El Mundo, and the events it sponsored. Escobedo explains the local political scene in 2019, the Latinx involvement with politics, and shares his thoughts on immigration policies and issues. Lastly, Escobedo discusses raising his family in Las Vegas and his work with the Latin Chamber of Commerce (LCC).

Oral history interview with Pauline "Polly" and Jack Weinstein conducted by Barbara Tabach on April 12, 2018 for the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project. In this interview, Jack talks about his upbringing in Detroit, Michigan and getting into the jewelry business. He talks about owning a wholesale jewelry business, relocating to Los Angeles, California, and forming a partnership with Tower of Jewels in Las Vegas, Nevada in the late 1950s. Jack recalls becoming the sole proprietor of Tower of Jewels in Las Vegas and describes his clientele. Jack and and his daughter Polly discuss operating up to ten locations at one time, advertising on the Howard Stern radio show, and their more well-known customers. Lastly, Jack and Polly talk about joining Temple Beth Sholom, Polly’s interests in the jewelry industry, and creating her own line of jewelry.

Oral history interview with Kathleen Kahn Mahon conducted by Barbara Tabach on December 03, 2018 for the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project. In this interview, Mahon discusses her family’s upbringing in New Mexico and talks about her Jewish education as a child. Mahon describes her family’s role in the founding of Congregation Albert in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Temple Beth Shalom in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She then talks about moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1980, taking on a pediatric ophthalmologist position, and being involved in the pediatric community. Mahon recalls becoming the first female president of the Nevada Chapter of the American College of Surgeons and her involvement with the Junior League of Las Vegas. Lastly, Mahon discusses the Ronald McDonald House, the Pediatric Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and being a founding member of the Children's Discovery Museum.

The Donald Welch Photograph Collection (approximately 1961-1981) is comprised of photographs of various golf tournaments hosted at the Desert Inn Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada collected by Welch throughout his career as the Desert Inn's head golf professional. In particular, the collection includes two photograph albums depicting the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Sealy golf tournament in the early 1970s and a 25th anniversary Desert Inn Country Club commemorative photograph book from 1981.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Housing and Residential Life Records (1959-2020) is comprised of photographs and records from the Office of Housing and Residential Life (HRL) for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The majority of the collection is comprised of physical and digital photographs, negatives, videos, and scrapbooks documenting various residential life events sponsored by the Residence Hall Association (RHA). Also included are informational booklets on housing and residential life at UNLV and issues of Living UNLV, the newsletter for UNLV residents. Residential life leadership and orientation training materials for HRL staff members are also represented in the collection.

The Apolonio Sauceda Scrapbooks (1973-2010) document Apolonio "Loney" Sauceda's acting career and his work with the Nevada Association for Latin Americans (NALA) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Two scrapbooks document Sauceda's career as an actor and contain photographs of Sauceda on set, at premieres, with other actors, and depict movie sets at well-known Las Vegas hotels and casinos in the 1980s and 1990s. Newspaper clippings accompany many of the photographs and provide details about locations, major actors, or the producers for each film. The third scrapbook is compiled of newspaper clippings that document the local Las Vegas, Nevada Latinx community and NALA events in the 1970s, ranging from political activism, labor strikes, beauty pageants, and religious gatherings.
