Margo Mansergh Papers

Abstract

The Margo Mansergh Papers (approximately 1920-2010) document the life of former showgirl and dancer Margaret "Margo" Mansergh Tomaszewski. Materials include photographs of Margo modeling, backstage at various shows, portraits, and personal family photographs as well as programs from her international career performing in the Lido de Paris and Pigalle Nightclub in London, as well as a number of shows in Las Vegas, Nevada, such as Vive Les Girls, Casino de Paris, Minsky's Burlesque, and Lido de Paris at the Stardust. The collection contains materials from Mansergh's modeling career, including photographs, book covers, and images of her as an extra in films. Digital images from the closing Stardust performance and an event for Miss Bluebell are also found in the collection.

Prize Texas Steer, branded "LBJ" was sent by Lyndon B. Johnson to be auctioned off at the Clark County Democratic Club fundraiser at Wilbur Clark's Desert Inn Country Club. The man on the left is Michael Hines, attorney and former owner of Tule Springs Ranch who was the auctioneer for the event. The man on the right is Wilbur Clark, who worked at the Desert Inn. The woman in the middle is unidentified, but may have been a singer at the Desert Inn. The steer was auctioned for $3,000. Street Address: 3145 South Las Vegas Boulevard

Oral history interview with Will Provance conducted by David Schwartz on July 14, 2016 for the Slot Operations Oral History Project. Provance discusses his various roles in the gaming industry the difference between managing slot machines in his earlier positions and video lottery terminals (VLTs) in his current position in Ohio. He also discusses what he believes makes a good slot floor and how slot operations has changed since he started in the industry.
