Down, James Henry, Sr., 1877-1946
County Commissioner and business owner James H. Down Sr. (1877-1946) was born in Michigan on September 20, 1877. After the death of both of his parents, he was adopted by Walter A. Down. In 1907 James H. Down married his first wife, Rogena Mahar. They moved to Nevada in 1916 and settled in Goodsprings, Nevada where he worked for George A. Fayle. In 1923, Down relocated to Las Vegas and operated a garage. He opened a Studebaker automobile dealership at the corner of Main and Carson Streets in downtown Las Vegas. In Las Vegas, James H. Linda Faiss, Helen Foley, and Melissa Warren founded and run Faiss Foley Warren Public Relations and Public Affairs.
Linda Faiss was born in 1943 and first moved to Nevada in 1945 growing up in Carson City. She is currently active with St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, Boulder City Hospital, Nevadans for the Common good and the MOB museum.

"GILBERT YARCHEVER Gilbert B. Yarchever, age 91, of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010. Gilbert was born Dec. 16, 1918, in Pittsburgh. Gilbert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was awarded the Civilian Meritorious Award from the U.S. Government. Gilbert was an administrative law judge and enjoyed a number of hobbies, including antiquing, art, fashion and travel.

Boyd, Sam A., 1910-1993
Sam Boyd and his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1941 and he began working as a card dealer. He moved up to a pit boss and then to a shift boss and saved enough money to buy a small interest in the Sahara Hotel and Casino. He became general manager and partner at the Mint Hotel and Casino where he developed a number of marketing, gaming, and entertainment innovations.

Light, Edward C., 1917-1992
Edward C. Light was an aeronautical engineer at the Hughes Aircraft Company (HAC) where he was responsible for supervising the design of aircraft control systems between 1942 and 1946. During this period, he worked on the Hughes H-4 Hercules, also known as the "flying boat" or the "Spruce Goose." As of March 2017, the plane has the longest wingspan of any flight-capable aircraft. Later in his career, he returned to HAC in 1954-1955 as a research physicist working on the Falcon Guidance System.
