Oral history interview with Ellis Rice conducted by Claytee D. White on April 09, 2014 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Rice discusses his personal history and growing up in St. Louis, Missouri during the 1960s. He describes his experiences attending Webster College in 1975 and talks about the increase of African American students at the time. Rice recalls starting his first company, African People Art Continuum (APAC) to help connect the arts and with the community. Later, he discusses the theater companies he was involved with, moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1991, and working with the West Las Vegas community to hold theater performances. Lastly, Rice talks about the music he writes and how it connects to his life story.

Oral history interview with Lee White conducted by Claytee D. White on May 18, 2021 for African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. Lee White played professional football for the New York Jets, Los Angeles Rams, and San Diego Chargers. A promising career as a first round draft pick resulted in an injury in his first professional game. He retired from football at the age of 28 and moved back to Las Vegas where he had grown up on the Westside. Lee entered the hotel and casino industry as a dealer, retiring twenty-five years later as a Vice President of Casino Operations. His career in the tourism industry included work at the Sands, MGM, Desert Inn, and the Tropicana.

Oral history interview with Zia U. Khan conducted by Vanessa Concepcion, Cecilia Winchell, and Stefani Evans on May 21, 2021 for Reflections: The Las Vegas Asian American and Pacific Islander Oral History Project.

Zia talks about his childhood growing up in Zambia, Africa and reflects on the personal histories of his family. Zia shares how he returned to his birth country of India to attend medical school before immigrating to the United States to complete his cardiology residency at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Zia also discusses his move to Las Vegas where he opened his own cardiology practice, Desert Cardiovascular Consultants. He shares stories of his work as well as his philanthropic efforts with the Imagine Foundation and other humanitarian causes.

Oral history interview with Carmen and Kelcey West conducted by Jennifer Kean and Niles Johnson on April 01, 2016 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Kelcey discusses his upbringing in the Baptist church and becoming a pastor for Nehemiah Ministries Church. He then recalls his education experience at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, how he learned about the many different ministries of the church, and describes how his church is organized. Kelcey explains his involvement with Churches of Southern Nevada and sponsoring Unity Through Knowledge, a tour of Historical Black Colleges and Universities. Later, Carmen discusses her role as a pastor’s wife and as a first lady at Nehemiah Ministries Church. Lastly, she describes organizing church events and the work she does as first lady.

Please I’d Like to Grow: Conversations and Reflections on Student Activism at UNLV panel discussion conducted by Heidi Johnson on November 20, 2016 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In this discussion, faculty, students, and alumni of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) discuss student activism, university exhibits and programs to promote diversity, environmental justice, and racial and sexual antidiscrimination.
