Oral history interview with Lonnie Pittman conducted by Beverly Williams on March 16, 1981 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Pittman, an African American man, describes the treatment and living conditions of African Americans in Las Vegas, Nevada during the 1950s. Pittman also discusses the job opportunities available to African Americans, segregation, and the quality of schooling available to African American children at the time.

In the interview, Long discusses his experiences as a high school grammar teacher, assistant principal, and principal in Las Vegas, Nevada. Long also discusses his early life and teaching in Pioche, Nevada; Panaca, Nevada; and Tonopah, Nevada.

The Elbert Edwards Papers (1869-1988) consist of manuscripts, newspaper clippings, and audio recordings documenting the history of Southern Nevada. The materials were compiled by Las Vegas, Nevada educator Elbert Edwards and contain a heavy emphasis on Mormon history. Other items of interest include biographies of Southern Nevada officials, Boulder City Cemetery genealogical records, and reports from the Clark County School District.

Oral history interview with Lanny Lund conducted by Forrest Campbell on April 13, 2006 for the Public School Principalship Oral History Project. In this interview, Lund reflects upon his 35-year career as a teacher and administrator with Nevada’s Clark County School District from the 1960s to the 1990s. He discusses his experiences working at Clark High School, Rancho High School, and Basic High School, challenges that he faced at each school, and his approach to education. He also discusses his regular job responsibilities, and how his responsibilities varied from school to school.
