Description
The Hotel Sahara float entry in the Helldorado Parade, May 1958. The float is titled "Hotel Sahara Toasts Wondrous Women." Smaller sections of the float are names "Birth of Venus" featuring a woman seated in a large clam shell that is being pulled by a large seahorse. The main portion of the float features three women seated beneath a large champagne glass, and a fourth woman seated on a large throne made of flowers. A side section of the float is titled "Joan of Arc," but the woman is obscured behind the horse sculpture she is riding. They are in front of the Boulder Club, located at 118 Fremont Street. The Boulder Club was in operation from 1931-1960. A sign on the Boulder Club reads ""Farmer" Page - Enjoy the Old West - Jackpots, Craps, Bar, Keno, Roulette, Twenty-One." They have just passed Joe W. Brown's Horseshoe Club (in operation from 1935-1958), located 128 Fremont Street at the corner of Fremont Street and 2nd Street. The Hotel Apache and the Fremont Casino are visible in the background.

Costume Details: Six variations on costume featuring micro mini-skirt with black belt, black shoes with white buckles, short flared coats or tops in black and white large paisley design, matching hats. First costume is sleeveless and has yellow collar and two large buttons vertically over the chest; second costume is sleeveless and features red lining and red bow tied across the chest; third costume features orange bow tied under the chest; fourth costume has long right sleeve, sleeveless on left side, features green lining, green bow tied under chest; fifth costume features purple lining, long sleeves; sixth costume is long sleeved and features two slits in front of top, blue lining. "Turquoise" is written by third costume. Also includes black and white sketches of costumes.

Title card at start says "B-roll created for Mirage is divided into three sections: Resort interiors and exteriors; Siegfried & Roy's Royal White Riger habitat; Steve Wynn interview and may be used by news stations without restriction." First segment shows exterior views of the fountain (daytime) and volcano area (night), interior of nearly empty hotel and aquarium; rooms, outdoor areas, Mikado restaurant. Second segment shows Siegfried & Roy with white tigers as guests look on, tigers play in the water. Third segment is an interview with Steve Wynn (unknown interviewer) about the design of the Mirage, decision to spend money on building it. Wynn is wearing a Golden Nugget sweater. Fourth segment is more b-roll of the white tiger habitat and specifies it can be used about reports on Siegfried and Roy and the Mirage only.
