Bartlett, David, 1940-

David Bartlett’s Nevada roots run far and deep. He was born in Las Vegas in 1940 (son to Fred Bartlett), but his family moved to Reno when David was in grade school. A great joy was for him to return to Las Vegas and spend time with both sets of grandparents: David and Julia Lorenzi (maternal) and Byron and Dessa Bartlett (paternal). In local history, both families represent the early entrepreneurship and craftsmanship of residents: from the Bartlett Brothers Hardware to Grandfather Lorenzi’s stonework that still graces such landmarks as the grottos at St.

Peltier, Anna, 1978-

Anna Peltier was born September 12, 1978 and grew up in Escanaba, Michigan, on the Upper Peninsula. She studied music performance at Michigan State University, but after discovering her love of landscape architecture, she changed majors and earned her degree in landscape architecture. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2007 and first worked for JW Zunino Landscape Architects. While with Zunino, Peltier did design work for Lorenzi Park, the Mob Museum, the Neon Museum, and designed the award-winning Cactus Avenue Interchange.

Ratner, Marc, 1944-

Marc Ratner was born July 25, 1944 in Phoenix, Arizona. His family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada when he was in the seventh grade in 1957. The Ratner family belonged to Temple Beth Sholom. Ratner is a graduate of Las Vegas High School and Nevada Southern (now UNLV.) Ratner worked for decades at officiating and regulating sports events, especially boxing, mixed martial arts, and football. He served as official in three collegiate bowl games: the 2003 Aloha Bowl, 2000 Independence Bowl and 2006 Cotton Bowl.

Brady, Kevin

Kevin Brady was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Pennsylvania. Brady started in the gaming industry in 1993 as a surveillance officer for Players International Lake Charles and eventually became a surveillance supervisor at Paragon Casino Resort. He later became a surveillance manager and casino controller at Harrah’s St. Louis where he worked in finance while also earning his master’s degree in business administration.

Morrow Zuckerman, Norma, 1949-

Norma Morrow Zuckerman was born May 26, 1949 in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from the University of Southern California, and chose the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for her master’s program in theatre. Zuckerman married her husband, Eugene, on May 06, 1989 in Beverly Hills, California. In 2008, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada alone and continued to commute from there to Los Angeles to see her husband and children.

Molen, Joanne Pattiani

In July of 1955, Joanne Molen's husband was offered a job at Nellis Air Force Base, so they moved from Alturas, California, to Las Vegas. Joanne had worked for Citizens Utilities in Alturas as a Western Union teletype operator, so she got a job with the Southern Nevada Telephone Company. She was the only woman to hold some of the positions she held. She worked for the telephone company, which became Sprint, for more than forty years, ending up as a main engineer.

Williams, Myrna, 1929-

Myrna Williams was born in Chicago in 1929. Her brother was the singer Mel Tormé, so the family moved to Hollywood when she was ten because her brother was under contract with MGM. Shortly after Myrna turned 21, she moved to New York to work for Decca Records. She met the jazz drummer David Williams, whom she married. Myrna, David, and their daughter Indy moved to Las Vegas in 1959. Myrna got involved in politics, and was elected to the Nevada State Assembly and to the Clark County Commission.

Corbett, Stavan, 1974-

Stavan Corbett’s ancestral legacy is a criss-cross of Mexican roots through his mother’s side with Russian and Polish Jew on his father’s side. He was named Steven at birth, and later altered the spelling to Stavan as a recognition of the blending of his cultural backgrounds. Though he has a tanned Latino look, he did not learn Spanish until electing to study it in high school. His mother and his grandparents saw assimilation as a better path for their future and that of the next generations.

Round, Stephen, 1970-

Steve Round (born 1970) is a military veteran who has lived in Las Vegas, Nevada since 2013. Round was a guest at the Aria hotel and casino when the mass shooting occurred at the Route 91 Harvest festival on October 1, 2017. On October 2, 2017 Round began to build a memorial at Reno Avenue at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip. Once the memorabilia from the memorial was taken to the Clark County Museum Round moved to the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign and began to assist in that site's protection until October 10, 2017.

Fritz, Pom, 1950-

One of four children born to a farming family in Udon Thani, Thailand, Pom Fritz is a retired guest room attendant (Flamingo, Desert Inn, and Mirage) and member of Culinary Workers Union Local 226, serving the Union as committee member, shop steward, Trustee, and member of the Executive Board. Pom came to the U.S. with her second husband, an American, in 1972. After stops at Air Force bases near Sacramento and in North Carolina, she moved to Riverside, California, where her younger sister then lived.
