McQuary, Gail S.

Gail Spaulding Jaros was born on October 16, 1937, in Cicero, Illinois. a suburb of Chicago. Her father Jerry Jaros was a professional saxaphone player and her mother, Fern Spaulding Jarosm was a professional trombone player. Gail began tap and ballet lessons when she was five years old. She signed as a dancer with Moro-Landis Productions in 1956, and she worked for that company at the Sahara Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the Riverside Hotel and Casino in Reno, and the Beverly Hills Country Club in Covington, Kentucky.

Bass, Burt (Burton), 1932-

Burton Bass (1932- ) is a photographer and owner of Burton Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York and practiced photography from the time he was a child. Bass opened his first professional photography studio in 1962, shortly after he married Wilma Frank in 1960. In 1974 the couple moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where Bass worked for his brother-in-law Ed Frank's check cashing businesses. In 1979 Bass opened his own photography business, Burton Studio.

Jones, Flora

Flora Jones was born in 1953 in Delta City, Mississippi. Her family moved to Hollandale, Mississippi, in 1968, and Flora finished high school there in 1971. She helped work the cotton fields and pick tomatoes before finishing school, and then got a job at a carpet factory in Greenville after graduation. Jones attended Mississippi Valley State University for a year, got married in 1973, and moved to Chicago with her husband in 1977.

Drew, Barbara Jean, 1943-

Barbara Drew is the dean of the Academy for Ministers, teaches Bible study, and performs other spiritual work at New Jerusalem Worship Center. Drew migrated to Las Vegas from Fortune Fork, Louisiana, just two miles outside the city limits of Tallulah. She traveled by car where passengers slept, ate, and talked about their new lives-to-be. She lived with an aunt on D and Monroe in a shack with a butane stove and no indoor toilet. Her first job was at American Linen.
