Description
Julie Domonkos interviews Jack Bullock, born 1916 in Gorman, Texas, in his home about his experiences living in Southern Nevada. Bullock talks mostly about his occupations in the gaming industry, some of which included being a dealer both in Las Vegas and other cities. Bullock also describes how Las Vegas and particularly the Las Vegas Strip have changed over the years since the forties when he arrived until 1981, when this interview was conducted. Bullock discusses what it was like working in casinos prior to corporations entering the gaming industry, and he mentions how entertainment has changed over time as well. Bullock’s wife Marjorie is also present during the interview and can be heard providing input on certain questions.

The Dorothy Dorothy papers (approximately 1913-1986) document the life of singer, songwriter, columnist, pilot, and farmer, Dorothy Dorothy. Materials contain genealogy records, correspondence, business and organizational records, local history, sheet music, artifacts, and two boxes of photographic prints. Also included are materials relating to her active involvement with animal rights campaigns.

The Maurine and Fred Wilson Papers (1888-1991) contain family papers and the historical research of Fred Wilson. The collection also contains Fred Wilson’s research files about the history of Southern Nevada as well as the First Methodist Church in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Richard B. Taylor Papers (1920-1993) document Richard Taylor's career and interests as a longtime Las Vegas, Nevada businessman and local historian, including his work as an executive at the Hacienda Hotel and Casino. The materials also include maps, development plans, and local publications for the Nevada communities of Laughlin and Mount Charleston, as well as publicity and promotional materials for these projects. As an amateur historian, Taylor also collected information on Las Vegas, Laughlin, and Mount Charleston.
