Oral history interview with Michael Bryant conducted by Claytee D. White and Stefani Evans on September 25, 2024 for the Game On! The Oral History of Las Vegas Sports project. In this interview, Bryant describes his childhood in Massachusetts, playing high school baseball, hockey, and basketball. He describes being a highly touted ninth-round pick drafted by the Boston Red Sox in his third year at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell (1980), but cutting his sports career short at 24 years of age. He recalls moving with his wife to Las Vegas, Nevada, coaching his son’s sports teams, and his rock band. Digital audio and transcript available.

Stephen Compan interviews entrepreneur Donald Edward Borsack on the front porch of his home in Las Vegas. Born in Bell, California in 1928, Borsack moved to Las Vegas in 1936. Occupations Borsack has had include insurance adjuster, clothing salesman, proprietor and owner of four El Portal Luggage stores. During this interview Borsack discusses the growth of Nevada, and sports and recreation in the early days, including Nevada’s first professional baseball team.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on March 10th, 1919, Brown moved to Henderson, Nevada in 1956. This interview offers an overview of life in Las Vegas and Henderson from 1956 to 1981. Brown also discusses road conditions, social structures, the educational system, support for intercollegiate sports and UNLV.
