She also discusses water conservation for the Las Vegas Valley, becoming the general manager of the Las Vegas Valley Water District from 1989 to 2014 and the general manager of the Southern Nevada Water Authority from 1993 to 2014.

Mason discusses living in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1965 with her husband, Stuart Mason. Brown talks about the Westside, growing up in Las Vegas, Nevada, the creation of the Economic Opportunity Board, and her direct involvement in the welfare rights marches and movement.

Oral history interview with Bernadine Schneider conducted by an unknown interviewer on an unknown date in 2006 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. Schneider opens her interview by discussing her childhood in Iowa. She talks about growing up with an abusive, alcoholic father, and how that affected her family and her own development. Schneider then explains that her mother sent her to church, which she credits with ultimately saving and improving her live. She talks about how her job at a telephone company allowed her to escape her family, getting married in 1933, her job as a school teacher, and her husband's and brother-in-law's experiences during World War II. Schneider describes the challenges she faced in getting approval permits to start a domestic violence shelter, Safe Nest in Las Vegas, Nevada, and how she often feels left out of the history of the shelter. She then recalls moving to New Mexico in 1952 and Las Vegas, Nevada around 1962 where her husband worked at the Nevada Test Site and she worked for a telephone company. She recalls working as a stockbroker and real estate agent while living in Las Vegas. She discusses her attempt to gain more education and her husband's resistance to her efforts. Lastly she explains how she got her home in Mount Charleston, Nevada.

Oral history interview with Barbara Cole conducted by Claytee D. White on June 29, 2005 for the the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. In this interview, Barbara Cole talks about the history of African Americans in Las Vegas, Nevada previous to the 1950s. She discusses her early childhood and her large family, as well as the family's contributions to the community. Barbara shares her thoughts on the race relations in Las Vegas throughout her life and details some of her own personal experiences with it. She also shares her knowledge of the foundation of Las Vegas' Westside.

Oral history interview with Helen Anderson Toland conducted by Claytee D. White on February 21, 2007 for the African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. Toland discusses her childhood in Missouri and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada where her husband, who was a civil rights worker, lived. She also discusses her careers as a speech therapist and the first African American female principal in the Clark County School District. She then talks about her activism in the Las Vegas African American community.
