Oral history interview with Barry W. Becker conducted by Barbara Tabach on June 04, 2014 for the West Charleston Neighborhoods--an Oral History Project of Ward 1. Becker recalls the growth of Las Vegas, Nevada and the changes made from when he initially came in the 1970s. Becker then discusses meeting numerous people in various occupations associated with land development. He also recalls watching the neighborhoods growing and spreading out through the Las Vegas Valley.

Kevin discusses the early Pinto Palomino neighborhood, working as a teenager, black-white relations, his education, serving as one of Howard Hughes physicians, and the move to Las Vegas. Barbara talks about the difference between Flintridge, California, and Las Vegas in 1968 when the family first arrived. The family members also discuss community participation and hotel-casino entertainment for young couples, and rearing children in Las Vegas.

Eunice Claxton oral history interview conducted by Claytee White on June 4, 5, and 10, 2015 for African Americans in Las Vegas: a Collaborative Oral History Project. Claxton discusses living in Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada, attending the Westside School, working as shield in El Morocco nightclub, and memories of Jackson Street life.

Oral history interview with Jack Cherry conducted by Cheryl Mawhinney on March 20, 1978 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. Jack Cherry, M.D. (b. 1897 in Little Rock, Arkansas) discusses about his experiences as a practicing physician in Southern Nevada. Dr. Cherry first discusses the steps he took to initiate the building of what would become the Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital, where he would later become the hospital administrator. The interview concludes with Cherry’s opinion on the modern practice of medicine.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Department of Sports Education Leadership Records (approximately 1931-2010) contains materials maintained by Dr. Jerry Landwer, a former faculty member in the Department of Sports Education Leadership at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Materials include reports, newspaper clippings, memorandum, research files, and publications kept by Landwer throughout his tenure at UNLV. Also included are publications from Landwer's personal library of sports and physical education related guidebooks, catalogues, and scholarly journals. The materials in this collection document various organizational efforts for the Department of Sports Education Leadership, specifically under President Carol Harter's tenure from 1995 to 1996.

[DEACCESSIONED] Collection is comprised of personal and community photos collected by Stan Armstrong dating from the 1940s to the 2000s. The collection also consists of photos of the historic Westside neighborhood of Las Vegas, Nevada and its African American community. Also included are promotional posters from Stan Armstrong's documentaries and memorial service programs of members of the African American Community.

Oral history interview with Chris Bianchi conducted by David Schwartz on April 14, 2015 for the Table Games Management Oral History Project. In this interview, Bianchi discusses his career as a pit boss and his overall career in gaming. Bianchi then discusses the procedures that a pit master must follow, and how strictly these procedures were enforced. Lastly, Bianchi discusses how to motivate players, the positive aspects of being a card dealer, including different competitions that he worked.
