Al James was a mining entrepreneur active in southern Nevada in the early 20th century. In June 1906, he purchased the Arizona Club in Las Vegas from J. O. McIntosh. James was associated with mining ventures in the region and reportedly received $10,000 for opening the Montgomery–Shoshone mine near Beatty, Nevada.
