The UNLV University Libraries Collection of Clark County, Nevada Secured Assessment Publications (1992-2000) includes newspaper prints of Clark County, Nevada public records detailing land property information for the upcoming tax year. The Clark County, Nevada secured assessment rolls were created by the Clark County Assessor’s Office and published by the local newspaper of a designated area on or before the beginning of each year.

Abstract

The Bonnie and Al Levinson Papers on Bonnie Springs Ranch contains visual and promotional materials from the 1960s to 2014 about Bonnie Springs Ranch located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The materials depict events and shows that occurred at the ranch; its guests, employees, petting zoo animals; and document the buildings on the property as well as the surrounding areas, including Red Rock Canyon. Also in the collection are photographs from other locations in Nevada, such as Belmont, Goodsprings, and Las Vegas. The collection also includes digital photographs of Bonnie Springs Ranch from 2008 depicting trail rides as well as the snow storm that fell on the Las Vegas Valley on December 17, 2008. The collection contains a significant amount of promotional materials about Old Nevada, a recreation of an 1880s mining town, as well as press releases and magazines and newspaper articles featuring the ranch.

Abstract

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) University Libraries Menu Collection consists of menus from restaurants, events, and travel excursions dating from 1852 to 2025. It includes menus from throughout the United States, with the majority of menus coming from Las Vegas, Nevada and Southern California. It also contains materials from many countries as well as travel menus from passenger rail travel, cruise liners and ships, and airlines. The collection also includes dining ephemera consisting of dining guides, food service trade information, and other materials related to restaurants.

Abstract

The UNLV University Libraries Collection of Maps (1770-2023) contains a wide variety of maps primarly representing Southern Nevada and the surrounding region. Some maps (particularly topographic maps) include most counties in the state. Maps are grouped by general type, and include historical routes; topographic maps; plat and parcel maps; geologic and mineral resource maps; government planning, census, and electoral maps; travel and tourism maps; and general highway and road maps. Additional maps held by UNLV Special Collections and Archives are cataloged and may be searched in the Libraries' online catalog.

Oral history interview with Gene Hotchkiss conducted by Barbara Clark on June 27, 1975 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Hotchkiss discusses her experiences living in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1946. Hotchkiss discusses the hotel industry, explaining that most casinos had a Western theme before the Flamingo was built, which started a luxury resort trend. Hotchkiss goes on to describe the development of Las Vegas Strip hotels.
