Patty Boyd oral history interview
Oral history interview with Patty Boyd conducted by Joyce Marshall Moore on October 24, 2003 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Boyd discusses her personal history and living in Boulder City, Nevada from the 1930s to the 1950s. She describes the construction of Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam), segregation in Las Vegas, Nevada in the late 1940s, recreational activities in Boulder City, and the growth of Henderson, Nevada. Lastly, Boyd recalls the blackouts during World War II and the plane crash of Carole Lombard.

Charles Silvestri oral history interview
Oral history interview with Charles Silvestri conducted by Claytee D. White on December 31, 2012 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. Silvestri begins by discussing his family history and his personal history in the United States Army during the 1950s. He describes moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1957 after leaving the army, working as a casino dealer at The Mint Hotel and Casino and California Club while attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, called Nevada Southern University at the time. Silvestri then describes attending the University of Nevada, Reno to finish his degree and moving back to Las Vegas to begin his career as a teacher. Lastly, he talks about life in Las Vegas, entertainment in the city, race relations in Las Vegas during the 1960s, and the middle school that was named in his honor.

The Ernie W. and Lucille "Seely" Cragin Photograph Collection contains photographic prints, negatives, and slides depicting early Las Vegas and Boulder City, Nevada events, buildings, and people between approximately 1900 and 1950. Event photographs portray the first Helldorado parade, rodeos, and military assemblies at the Las Vegas Air Gunnery School (currently Nellis Air Force Base). Other photographs in the collection depict locations throughout Nevada and the United States including Tonopah, Nevada; and Macon, Georgia.

The Richard B. Taylor Photograph Collection (approximately 1957-1991) consists of black-and-white and color photographic prints and negatives. The images depict Taylor alongside Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity brothers playing table games and seated at a bar inside the Arizona Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. Additional images portray Taylor’s home on Trotter Circle in Las Vegas decorated for Halloween.

The Hotel Last Frontier Photograph Collection contains photographic prints, negatives, and slides depicting scenes inside and outside the Hotel Last Frontier in Las Vegas, Nevada between approximately 1940 and 1969. The collection also includes photographs under its alternate names: the Last Frontier and the New Frontier Hotel and Casino.

Charles J. Sorrells oral history interview
Oral history interview with Charles J. Sorrells conducted by Karen Schank on November 30, 2010 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Sorrells primarily discusses his family's history in Nevada beginning in the early 1900s when his grandfather moved there from Georgia. Sorrells describes life in the rural desert town of Shoshone, Nevada and a town called Greenwater, his grandfather's main residency, located somewhere in Death Valley. Through his family history, Sorrells provides an overview of Nevada's history as it progressed from an Old West lifestyle to modern American living by the mid-twentieth century. Sorrells also talks about life in Las Vegas, Nevada, his children, and his career as a certified public accountant.

The Geneva Stark Merwin Photograph Collection features photographic prints and negatives of locations throughout Pahrump, Nevada between 1941 and 1942. Primary locations include a Pahrump school and Pahrump Ranch, as well as locations in local fields and mountains. The photographs capture candid scenes of people walking to school and feeding animals.
